Russia is starting mass production of COVID-19 test systems


    Head of “The Russian Health Ministry’s Center for Strategic Planning and Management of Medical and Biological Health Risks” Sergei Yudin informed that this week Russia is starting with the production of their new “AmpliTest SARS-CoV-2” this week and they are planing to produce up to 50,000 test systems a day.

    This new test system will be more sensitive than the existing ones and are based on detection the RNA of the SARS-CoV-2 (COVID-19) through a polymer chain reaction.

    The creation of the new Russian test system known as “AmpliTest SARS-CoV-2” began on January 31, 2020, on the instructions of Russian Health Minister Mikhail Murashko, and on the March 6, it was approved by the “Russian Federal Service for the Oversight of Consumer Protection and Welfare”.
